On January 14, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the import and export situation for the whole year of 2020 and answer questions from reporters.

 

Li Kuiwen, spokesperson and director of the Statistical Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs, introduced that traditional advantageous products continued to maintain export growth. In 2020, China's mechanical and electrical products exports were 10.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 6%, accounting for 59.4% of the total export value, an increase of 1.1 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, exports of laptops, household appliances, and medical instruments and devices increased by 20.4%, 24.2%, and 41.5% respectively. In the same period, exports of 7 categories of labor-intensive products such as textiles and apparel were 3.58 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.2%, including textile exports of 1.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 30.4%.
